Decided on a different model or product? Bringing back a gift that wasn't perfect? Experiencing buyers' remorse? No worries. Whatever the reason, we aim to make returns and exchanges simple, convenient, and safe. Learn how to do returns and exchanges below.

To get started and find out if your product is eligible for a mail return, view your order details online and then follow the steps.

If you purchased a Marketplace product, an item sold by our trusted seller-partners through richblackafricans.net, there is a different process ( Marketplace products are products sold by our trusted seller-partners through RBA.

Because of this, they have their own return policies (specified by each seller), and they cannot be returned to a RBA store—they must be returned to the seller by mail.) to follow for returning or exchanging your item. Please check your item to make sure it is RBA product before following the steps below.

  1. Check the item’s return policy- Make sure your item is eligible for return using our product-specific return policies Most purchases from RBA can be returned or exchanged for up to either 14 or 30 days from the date of purchase, depending on the type of product and the condition of its return.
  2. Select the order through your RBA account - Your orders can be found in the "Order History" section within your account Click on the order you want to return and look for the “Start a Return” button. Most likely, if the “Start a Return” button isn’t there, the product is no longer returnable. Please contact us for further help.
  3. Fill out the questionnaire to submit your return- If it’s eligible for return, you'll receive an email with info on how to get the item back to us which may include a prepaid return shipping label.
  4. Pack everything up- Make sure you have all the parts of your product, including original accessories. Pack it in the original pack with your packing slip, then seal it, and put on your return shipping label.
  5. Ship it back to us – Drop off your package at the correct shipping location near you. Once it ships, use the link in your confirmation email to track its progress.

Once we've received the item, we’ll process a refund to your original payment method within 10 days.

Please be aware that return shipping labels are only valid for either 5 or 14 days after we email them to you, depending on your order’s shipping method:

Additionally, if an item is being shipped to you in multiple boxes, please wait until you've received the final box before making a return. The return period will start after you get the final box.

Returning a large item

If you're interested in returning a large item that you purchased from RBA, we offer pickup services to help ease the burden. To get the return process started, you'll need to schedule the large item return.

For the safety of our customers and delivery partners, large can only be picked up for return if our agent is able to safely enter your home. 

For our agents to be able to enter your home, you’ll have to answer a few simple screening questions when they arrive at your residence. If your answers meet our safety standards, our agent will proceed to receive your return. If your answers do not meet our safety standards, we ask that you keep the item at your home until it is safe for an agent to collect it.

  3. Choose your preferred method of contact - Choose how you would like to contact us to request a scheduled large item return and to provide any additional info.
  4. Check your email for further instructions - Once your return request has been approved, you’ll receive an email with further instructions on how to prep the item for its scheduled pickup.

Any returns or exchanges will only be accepted if the item has been cleaned and sanitized by you.

Returning a Marketplace Product

Marketplace products are products sold by our trusted seller-partners through richblackafrican.net

Because of this, they have their own return policies (specified by each seller), and they cannot be returned to a RBA store—they must be returned to the seller by mail. To learn how to find a Marketplace seller's return policies, and how to return a Marketplace product by mail, see below.

There are 2 places where you can find a Marketplace seller's return policies:

  • On the product page for a Marketplace product, select the seller’s name to go to the seller’s page. On this page, you’ll find the seller’s return policies.
  • If you've already placed an order for a Marketplace product, you can access the seller's return policies on both the Order Details page or through your Shipped Order confirmation email.

Marketplace products must be returned to the Marketplace seller by mail, and cannot be returned to RBA stores.

Before getting a Marketplace mail return request started, make sure your purchase is eligible to be returned by checking the return policies of the Marketplace seller. Please pay attention to the condition a product must be in to be accepted for a return.

Additionally, if a Marketplace product is being shipped to you in multiple boxes, please wait until you've received the final box before starting a return request.

  1. Find your order then select the Marketplace item you would like to return.
  • You will see an option to contact the seller directly. Select this option and provide the following information in the empty message field:
  • The number of products you would like to return
  • The name and description of each product
  • The Web Code for each product (on the Order Details page)
  • The date you received each product
  • The condition of each product when it was received
  • The condition of the each product's packaging
  • The reason for requesting a return of each product
  1. Once your return request has been approved by the seller, you should receive an email containing a printable return shipping label (called a Return Merchandise Authorization) and further instructions on how to send the item back to the seller. 
  • Print and attach the Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) shipping label from the seller and ship the package, making sure to include:
  • The product and any accessories
  • Any manuals and/or warranty cards
  • The product's original packaging

Once the Marketplace seller has received the products, you should see a refund to your original method of payment within 7-14 business days.
